In the words of the late-great singer, Aaliyah, “It’s been a long time, we shouldn’t of left you, Without a dope BLOG-post to read (to read, to read, to read, to read).” That’s my remix! Yes, it has been a full 16 days since we last posted a blog, did you miss us??? Well, we sure missed you all! Wow, we didn’t even say Happy New Year! Well, here it goes, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! It’s 2016!!!! LOL, for 16 days now!

Thus far, this year has been very interesting, allow me to fill in the details. First, in the tradition of the Western Church and the Black church experience, I declared on watch night that 2016 is the Year of Courageous Living! Surely that was a prophetic message because this year has already required courage from our family. It took courage for us not to go berserk when someone broke into my wife’s car, busting out her window, and stealing her personal belongings! Included in those belongings were Super Mighty Max’s diapers and wipes, yes you read it right! They stole my baby boy’s diapers and wipes. IfI sure hope that baby has a clean behind, smh! Not only did they steal diapers and wipes, but they also took my wife’s idea book! She did several brain dumps with many wonderful blog and podcast ideas in them, and now they’re gone! Talk about, taking the wind out of someone! To top it off, the cops can’t do anything about it and her car only had collision insurance, which means we had to pay out of pocket for the window repair. It’s all good, lesson learned!

This year, we also decided to take a risk and put Maxwell back in daycare for 1 day a week, unfortunately, he now has a little cold. I’m not sure if he got it at the daycare or not, I just know he’s congested and that really upset me. We’re trying to be very vigilant with his care and I feel like we pulled the trigger too early. So, right now as we speak, he’s at home on the mend. I’m just learning that my baby still needs more time to build up his immune system. He’ll get there!

Lastly, looking for a place to live in this area, is no walk in the park. Boy oh boy, how we miss the cost of living in Charlotte! Needless to say, Erica and I are looking to move, and we think, we pray, we hope we’ll be moving soon! Keep us in your prayers, as we discern the best place for our family!
